Touch Up Tuesday

It's been a while since I've posted a Tuesday photo...not that I haven't been taking photos, finding the time to upload and edit is what I've been struggling with. This weekend was beautiful, I didn't manage to get any daytime shots, but once that big, bright, almost full moon came out...I went and got my camera and tripod. We were standing down by the creek enjoying a bonfire with friends and I managed to get a few cool shots of the moon lighting up the trees.

Editing Process
1. Use Clone tool to get rid of grass and branch on the bottom corners of image.
2. Use Burn tool to darken cloned areas.  3. Adjust Sharpness
4. Use Defog Filter    5. Adjust Levels   6. Crop

Someone turned on their four-wheeler lights as I had the shutter open and it gave the center of the picture more of a glow...it definitely lit it up more than the other images. This was taken with a Canon Rebel T2i at 9:45 in the evening.
Manual settings - f/3.5, 30 second exposure, ISO 400, focal length 18mm.

Touch Up Tuesday

I've been super busy lately and I finally had time yesterday evening to work on a Touch up Tuesday Photo. This photo was taken 2 weeks ago. It was early morning and there was still a little layer of ice on the far side of the lake; the fountain was off and the reflection was beautiful. I took the same shot the night before with a full moon in the sky, but was too lazy to get my tripod and it has a little camera shake...maybe I'll post it another day.

I edited the photo in PSE 8. I straightened the image and then cropped it. Adjusted the Levels and used the Burn Tool to reduce the Sun Flare on the top right hand corner.

Tuesday!!Tuesday!

I've spent the past 9 days on vacation and it's finally coming to an end. We're both ready to head home and see our puppies. It was a blizzard almost the entire time we were in Colorado, but I managed to get a few good shots on the day we arrived...which ended up being the clearest day, besides the day we left. We enjoyed the snow and New Years together and had a great vacation.

This was the day we arrived when there was little snow on the ground. We parked near here and took the snowmobiles a few miles down the road to the cabin.
